Ferro-manganese – a special alloy of iron and manganese.
It is used in metallurgy as deoxidising and alloyage agent in the steel manufacturing, and also for coating of weld rods. Adding of manganese enhances main steel characteristics: hardness, anticorrosive properties and tear strength.
High-carbon and intermediate-carbon ferro-manganese of grades FMN78 and FMN88 are manufactured according to the national standard of Ukraine, DSTU 3547-97.
